Dear Madam:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father.

My name is John Phillip R. Pesebre, a native of Nabua, Camarines Sur (Region 5). I am the creator and founder of a group of Nabuenyos numbering to around 8 thousand and we would like to express our commitment to stand alongside your good office to uphold the Women and Children’s Protection Desk in our hometown. We are led to share our resources by way of purchasing a mobile patrol van for WCPD-Nabua, a patrol tricyle, two motorbikes, a few side arms and refurbish the office.

Our family is also very thankful for the way PO2 Jill Bañaga Lanuzga accomodated our concern. You see I went to WCPD-Nabua to ask for assistance and it was there I saw that the way the office looked was not commensurate to the honor of the office. However, I did not feel bad because PO2 Lanuzga conducted herself honorably regardless of the cramped and hot 4x10 office which looked more like makeshift room rather than a place where our unfortunate women and children would receive their comfort and protection. I am happy that the officers in my town make do of what they have without even complaining. We came with a concern and that was their priority – nothing more, nothing less.

I also learned from the people of my town that at times they would see WCPD respond to report riding a rented tricycle because the police station only has deployed its only mobile patrol car to another crime or mission. Many times they would see the apprehended perpetrators handcuffed on a tree as the officers would await for a tricycle to pass by and bring them to the police station. Some of them they say respond to calls of duty without side arms? How will they neutralize an overpowering male perpetrator if they only have their bare hands? Take note however that none of the policemen gave this information to us but some people in our town did. Our hometown is the typical small town where everyone observes everything.

Having said that we still would like to commend your command. WCPD-Nabua is truly deserving of our partnership because they do a lot despite having less. We felt like they understand that the dignity is in the office, not in the kind of makeshift room they have, the indignity of responding to a crime riding a commute, the helplessness of an apprehension without even a small pistol. They do their job despite the privation of resources. And for that we as a people are honored.

Please take note that we are not committing to stand alongside the WCPD-Nabua because of awa. Far be it from happening because we are the ones who were humbled by such noble women serve our community with dignity and honor maski po hindi namin man lang sila nare recognize at pinaparangalan. Salamat po sa inyong pangunguna sa mga dakilang alagad ng batas na ito.

Hingin na lang po namin ang inyong advice kung pano po namin maisasakatuparan po ang aming naisin. As a dean of a seminary and a graduate of a prestigious graduate leadership school in the country, I humbly submit my commitment to facilitate this small contribution of resources and partnership to the WCPD of our beloved town Nabua.
